Happy Birthday Dear KayKay! :)

We had a lovely birthday dinner for KK at the Olive Garden on the 14th! Can't believe that was over a week ago already, but things have been hopping here, and I totally forgot to post about it! Sorry about that!

It was kind of funny, because both KK and Blingdaddy had reminded me earlier in the day to call Olive Garden to make sure that they could "handle" us - a motley group consisting of Kate, Brent, Kelly, Tom, Aimee, Matt, Payton, Blingdaddy and Blingmama. So, I called early in the day to see if I could make a reservation and was snottily told that there were no reservations and we would be taken on a first come, first served basis. I nearly told the smug little witch that we would just go somewhere else, but since Kate really wanted to go to Olive Garden, I said, "thank you" and hung up!

Well, we arrived around 8:00 (of course, all the summer birthdays are on Tuesdays this year, and Tom has a guitar lesson Tuesday night from seven to seven-thirty....) and had to wait about ten minutes or so. When the hostess was bringing us to our table (a really cool large table in its own little alcove, BTW) she made the mistake of asking me if we had to wait very long.......I thought that I was polite about it, but I did tell her about my afternoon phone call to see about a reservation, and she told me that whoever I spoke to was wrong, and that they did take reservations during the week, just not on the weekends! I shared with her that I nearly decided to go somewhere else because of my phone experience. Well, I guess that she must have run off and told the manager my story, because suddenly we had all these servers around the table, as well as the manager, and received complimentary glasses of wine! Too funny! Gee, maybe I should politely complain more often about things......hmmmmm.......don't tempt me! :)

Anyway, we all had yummy dinners, and Kate turned 23! How could that happen???

On the way out of Olive Garden we realized that we hadn't sung Happy Birthday to Kate, so as we were walking to our various cars, we all sang a nice serenade of Happy Birthday Dear Kay Kay!
