So, last night Tom and I made the trek from Geneva to Glenview to meet Blingdaddy at Jennings VW to pick up our new red wheels! It only took an hour and a half or so, during which time we listened to the new Maroon 5 CD, as well as a bit from The Click Five CD.
Our new little Bug is a Salsa Red, with tan rag top - Kelly has already declared it her favorite ever car. She drove it to work at Delnor this morning. Blingdaddy says it rides "smoother" than the most recent in our line of VWs, and I am loving the lack of loud bleeping that used to occur the instant the Blue Bug was turned on to remind one and all to fasten seatbelts!
After attending to the requisite paperwork, the three of us motored "up" to Highland Park to dine at Yummy Bowl.......oooohhh, the tastiness of it all! Unfortunately, Yummy Bowl was closing five minutes after we sat down, so we hurriedly placed our orders for noodles and tofu (Tommy and Bmommy) and beef and pea pods (Bdaddy)........After scarfing down about a third of our plates, we decided to pack it up and head home. Our delicious leftovers await in the fridge as I write.....
Driving West on Central, around 9:40 PM, we passed by I-94, thinking that I-294 would await us just a bit further West, and were somewhat surprised when we reached Route 83 without ever having come across the desired I-294. Thus followed an amazingly roundabout drive home through the towns of Wheeling, Prospect Heights, Buffalo Grove, WoodDale, and Addison, to name a few. Driving through WoodDale on WoodDale Drive was particularly pleasant, knowing that we were in the vicinity of "Kate's" school. Turns out that we were one "major" street removed from her place of employment and enjoyment!
We finally arrived home just after 11:00 PM last night, on a total high from signing away thousands of dollars and being driven through the night in a lovely Red Chariot. A little more serendipity - we opted to get rid of the old license plates from the Blue Bug to receive new ones, and our new ones begin with the letter "G" and also include the number 95 in the last four digits...........quite meaningful to our clan, don't you know? :)
All in all, quite a satisfactory experience!
And, now, today, more Good News from Aimee's court hearing! The Jerk is going to have a princely sum removed forcibly from his paycheck two times a month, to be sent to Kane County and then to Miss Aimee. And for the next fourteen months, Aimee will be receiving an additional five hundred a month in arrearages! See Aimee Smile Big Time!

Blingmamma, you slacker. There's no update from Miss Kate's 23rd birthday dinner yet? How am I to live vicariously through your blog when it's not up to date? :-)
