Monday night Scott and Julie made some delicious quinoa-stuffed red peppers for dinner - I will try to post the recipe here, because it truly was yummy. Even the Tomster liked it! And you all know that he's "like Mikey - he doesn't like ANYthing"! hahaha
Yesterday we went to a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Cambridge called Ole! Packed, even on a Tuesday night at 9:00 PM! I think the folk here in Boston dine at a later hour than those of us in the Midwest.....Tommy and I are both loving the urban living. We have agreed that we could live very easily in the city like this, if only we had a GIANT income so that we could afford some nice digs like Julie and Scott have! :)
Yesterday Julie, Tommy and I went to the Aquarium right on the harbor. Very interesting, even though it's pretty small. My camera promptly died, wouldn't you know, but Tom snapped some pictures with his phone, as did Miss Jules. :) We saw some amazingly beautiful jellyfish - the Moon Jellies were stunning, a very scary shark (actually more than one, but one of them had a small injury that made him/her look even MORE fierce) and Myrtle the Turtle - a humongous sea turtle. I believe the guy giving the "tank talk" said that Myrtle tipped the scales at over five hundred pounds. There are over seven hundred sea creatures in the large tank that is in the center of the Aquarium. It's twenty three feet high and twenty feet in circumference, but seemed much larger to me. We also saw some cool stingrays and some beautiful angelfish. :)
Today, early in the morning, Julie, Tom and I went for a quick "power walk" around the area and then Miss J. had to take off for work. We are waiting for her to get home as we speak. In the interim, Tommy and I wandered around on our own, and strolled along Newbury Street, stopping at various shops, and finally ending up at a Starbucks where Mr. T. had some OJ and I had something yummy with chocolate and caramel. I figure I'm getting soooooo much more exercise than normal that I could "afford" a little indulgence there......yeah, right!
Miss Kelly, I thought of you today when we passed the Berklee area swarming with all of the music students - all I can say is that there are a whole lot of them who appear to play the guitar! LOL
We've been following DWTS each night, and I was sad to see that co-founder of Apple kicked off last night. I really enjoyed seeing him. Plus, he's more in my age category, and I think that it's fun to see us "oldies" out there kicking up our heels!
Signing off for now. Wish you were all here with us. :)
