Heavens, I just realized that it's nearly the end of September already.......where HAS the time gone? Tommy brought home a progress report already from school. No, girls, a progress report is NOT an indication that he is doing poorly already.....LOL It's I guess what was the Six Week Report or some such.......In any event, our little TomTom is doing quite well in school, as he did last year. And I have the dark circles under my eyes to prove it. He just seems to do much better on tests when Dear Old Blingmama helps him study. Oh, the things we do for our children. Julie, please take note. Aimee already has a taste of exactly what Motherhood is all about, and I am sure that you are soon to follow. (Okay, not THAT soon, but, still.......)
Tommy and Payton have discovered a new way to have fun together: playing frisbee. The past few afternoons have seen them cavorting on the front lawn throwing brightly colored discs at one another. Payton has a fantastic arm! They are actually having fun together rather than tormenting one another! Aaaaah, how sweet it is......
Paytie is off to a great start at preschool this year. His teachers seem to leave a bit to be desired - kind of cold and possibly stupid (oooh, unkind, I know, but I just couldn't resist) - but he's still coming home each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with a smile on his face, so that counts for something!
I don't think that I shared the story of Alene's first day at HER preschool. Okay, a few of you heard this, but please bear with me. It's quite cute. Payton, Alene and I were driving to preschool, and Paytie and Leenie were having one of their usual adorable conversations in the back seat. This is what I overheard:
Payton: "Leenie, you gotta be careful at school, 'cause there might be some MEAN kids there."
Alene: "Okay, Payton, I will be careful."
We dropped Alene off at school, where there were several little boys screaming their blessed little heads off about being left alone without their moms, and when I walked Leenie in, she kind of gave me this look that said, "Should I be afraid, too?"
On the car ride home, we were not even out of the parking lot when Payton wanted to know how Leenie's day went.
Alene: "Payton, there were some mean kids there."
Payton: " I KNEW iiiiiit!"
Ah, kids. They say the darndest things.....
Kelly has been having some trials and tribulations over finding roommates for next year. YES, it's ALREADY time to think about where you are going to live next year. Leases are going to be signed starting October 1st. She's still trying to figure things out, but, knowing our Kel, she will do JUST FINE! :) Her classes are going well, and she is still enjoying her conducting class very much........every time I think of conducting, I am hearing Grandma Lois' voice in my head saying, "Well, I just don't understand why that conductor is up there....it must be the easiest job in the whole world...." Some day she is going to really, REALLY regret uttering those words.
Scott and Julie will be here next weekend, and (Aims and Kate and Kel, please take note here) we are thinking that a trip to Woodfield to the Jessica McClintock store might be in order for some trying-on. Please, if you all can, leave room in your weekend schedule for this on possibly Saturday morning. ALSO, we will be having some sort of dinner at the house n Saturday night with all family members invited - probably a barbeque again. ........Aimee, please tell Matt that his barbequing services are going to be required again - that is, if he is still talking to you after you tell him tonight that he's not going with you to your high school reunion tomorrow night........j/k He adores you, and you could probably not do tooo much to get rid of him at this point. :)
So, yes, Aimee's 10th high school reunion is tomorrow night, and she's going with Mo and Kecia. Let's all hope that it's a fun night! Aimee has been nearing the end of her rope with the Darling Elsa. CAN the woman get any harder to deal with??????? Oh, well, I guess that each of us has our Cross to bear......
Let's see......Kate, Kate, what have you been up to recently? I know that you are enjoying your time with the Chicago Chamber Choir, and that you had a retreat with that group last Sunday. So far, the kids in your classes are all doing well.....anything else you would like me to add? :) You are the Mystery Person these days, being soooo busy!
Blingdaddy is at a Sargent & Lundy Open House as I hammer away at the keyboard. It is something that he planned in his role as Director of Engineering for the Fossil Group, and I am sure hoping to hear that it all went swimmingly! The response to the ad in the Chicago Tribune was very good, so hopefully S & L has attracted lots of new "blood" today. :)
Oh, yes, another wedding note: Princess Jules has created a web page for the wedding at www.theknot.com. Once you are at the page, scroll down about halfway and on the right side you will see a space where you can search for the name of the bride (or groom) and if you type in the appropriate name, you will see a few details. DO NOT get all excited when you see the date of June 21, 2008. Miss Jules had to list a date to create her page. THAT IS NOT THE DATE....or, it could be, but so far it isn't.....She graciously allowed me to tell my little tale of how she and Scott met on the page......such fun! :)
Well, my fingers are getting tired from all this typing, so I will sign off. I am quite sure that I have blathered on long enough.
Happy Friday to All!
