Today I wanted to share a website with you all. I was chatting with Kate this morning on her drive to school, and was telling her about Grandma Lois' 'friend' who will be joining us Christmas Day.....yes, sorry about that, but we will be sharing the day with Brian, Grandma's friend.
Briefly, this is what Grandma has shared with me about Brian (oh, wait, it's me, this will not be brief at all, now, will it?): they met thirty seven years ago...yes, that's around the time that Blingdaddy and I were just getting married....I have no clue as to HOW they actually met, or what their relationship was at that time.
They re-connected around twenty years ago, just after Grandpa Ken died.....then Grandma married Ralph....guess that there was lots going on around then - Mr. Gwinn asked Grandma to be his 'companion' (did you all know that?) but she turned him down, and Brian came back into Grandma's life, but she was already engaged to marry Ralph......you all know how THAT went.....so fast-forward to about a year and a half ago.
Brian found Uncle Ken on the internet (same last name, etc.) and wrote to him, asking him if he was related to Lois Jeppson, and if so, would he please forward this letter to her? I don't exactly know what's transpired in the past year and a half, except that Grandma and Brian have been seeing one another on occasion (he drove her to Mass one morning recently) and that he wanted to buy her a computer for Christmas.....she is spending Christmas Eve with Brian and his family (he has a son and DIL living in St. Charles and expecting their first child), and has asked him to spend Christmas Day with her family. She claims they are just friends. Ha. Ha. Ha.
In any event, Brian is a graphic artist/designer, and here is his website (hold on, it's a LOT of typing!): http://www.patentdraftingartillustration.com/ Pay a little visit to it. I guess the picture of Brian himself might be a tad outdated. Grandma says he's gained a lot of weight in the past few years and he might not be all that recognizable from the picture. She, of course, hasn't seen his website, having disconnected her internet service more than a year ago.....Can you imagine life sans internet? I shudder.
Oh, wait! I forgot one more juicy tidbit. Brian is a 'younger man'. I believe he's only ten years older than moi. I'll let you all chew on that one for a bit......Kelly is kind of confused and shocked about her Grandma...what about the rest of you? :) And boys, how do you like knowing that your Beloveds have such FIRE running through their veins?????? Awww, you prolly already knew.....
I don't know about all of you, but I am still in my usual pre-Christmas frenzy of trying to find gifts that I think everyone will like (please lie to me and tell me you love everything even if you don't) and trying to get Christmas cards into the mail.....any suggestions for Christmas Day food will be gratefully accepted! :)
Can't wait to see our Out-of-Town Relations - just chatted with one of them on the phone! :) It's looking more and more as though we will NOT be visiting warmer climes during the Christmas Break - Tommy J informed me last night that he has a LOT of homework to contend with over the break, and is hoping to stay home to finish it......maybe Spring Break?
And then I will be winging my way to Boston, for the arrival of the newest little family member!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
