Thursday Again!

Well, do I see a trend here? It's Thursday again.....hmm......Tonight we have the Orientation Night for Geneva High School for Tom - can you believe it's that time already? His teachers have been talking to the kids about high school and placement in classes, etc. His Spanish teacher told him that she would have recommended him for Honors Spanish if he spoke up more in class. I guess she has a point there, but I am a bit peeved that she didnt' give him that opportunity since he's an excellent Spanish student, gradewise. Following in the Family Tradition of good-at-languages. :) Since Kelly was already in high school when we moved here, I haven't gone through the GHS Orientation for parents - should be interesting. It's been a loooooong time since I've sat through a high school orientation night, hasn't it? sigh

Kelly should be getting ready to leave for the IMEA conference in Peoria right about now - she said she'd be leaving Thursday morning. I chatted for a bit with Kate yesterday afternoon and discovered the Brent will also be making an appearance there, and will be singing! Kelly, be sure to go see him if you can. Kelly's orchestra will be performing there on Friday morning, so Brent, if you see this, you need to go see Kelly's orchestra, too! See, I'm ordering you around already. Sorry about that......just a STRONG suggestion, not an order! LOL

I think it's amazing that Kelly and Brent will both be at the same "music function" and neither one probably realized the other would be there. Kelly will be there till Saturday afternoon, but Brent will be driving to see Kate this weekend and won't be there quite so long. Sarah Iliff is going to be in town this weekend (well, in Libertyville, which really isn't what I'd call "in town" LOL) and Kate will be going to see her, along with Jenny (Jordan), Brent, and most likely others I am not recalling.....how fun! It's so cool to keep in touch with people you've known since early childhood.

Talked with Miss Jules recently about her proposed plan of action - she's applying to three programs in the Boston area for a master's in teaching. Let's all keep our fingers crossed for her (or pray, if you are so inclined - it's very powerful, honest!) so that she gets accepted into her first choice! She's also studying for a test she needs to take on grammar, etc. Kelly will also be taking a Content test in the near future, mainly including Music History and Music Theory. She's a little worried about it, since she's only had one Music History class so far, but I know that she'll be FINE! :)

All of you might already know this, but poor Matt has been going without sleep since Sunday or Monday, I have lost track now (and so, most likely, has HE! - Aimee would know, of course!) due to the server crashing at work. I am hoping that the next time I hear from Aimee she has some good news on that front. As of yesterday afternoon, the problem was still not fixed. How distressing. As Aimee said, good thing it's Matt and not her dealing with it. :) We all know what THAT means.....Matt, if you see this, here is a hug from your dear ole' MIL, and a prayer that you will get to have some sleep VERY SOON. Guess the Universe thought you'd had enough leisure time in St. Lucia and it was time to test you a little bit. LOL Okay, it's not a laughing matter, I know, but just trying to inject a small bit of distracting humor.

BlingDaddy reported that three of the engineers at you-know-where (I dasn't mention the company name) were in the hospital this morning - one from being in a car accident, and two with chest pains....Yikes.

Well, I'm off to the grocery store with the little ones. Wish me luck! :)
