Matt Sleeps!

Thank heavens, Matt's crisis at work is over - the server went back up on Wednesday around 6:00 PM. Aimee said that he finally got to go to sleep around 9:00 that night. Bet it will be a looooooong time before he gets some time off! LOL Aimee said that the crash occurred because the people who were supposed to be checking on things while Matt was off in St. Lucia didn't, and errors kept compounding, one after another, till the system couldn't take it anymore.

Last night was Orientation Night at the GHS for parents of incoming fall freshmen. Very interesting. Glad Tom is not my first child attending high school. I would have been totally overwhelmed. And I couldn't believe how much talk about college the parents were subjected to. Not that it's not necessary, but I think that it was probably a shock to those whose oldest child is an eighth grader. Didn't get to see Mrs. Lawrence-Loucas due to IMEA, but I did get to see Mr. Gannon from the science department. He looked like he's aged in the five years since I've seen him.....of course, I haven't aged a single second! LOL

Tom is making noises about giving up band in high school, and I have had to do some quick thinking and offer a change to percussion to keep him interested. Now I just have to email the band teachers to see if it's a possibility......he is actually willing to take piano lessons!

Is everyone set for the SuperBowl this weekend? Not that I actually care, but we are looking forward to having Aimee, Matt, and Payton come over for the game.....Kate, if you and Brent have nothing already planned (quite a long shot), please feel free to stop by as well.....don't you love the last-minute invitation stuff? hahaha We will have munchies. I have no clue as to who is the favored to win team, but I think I am rooting for the Steelers, since a few of my cyberfriends on the QVC BB are rooting for them. :)
