Saturday night the Chicago dwelling members of the clan met up at El Taco Grande (the OLD one) to celebrate (and EAT) Miss A's 28th birthday. :) The diners included: The Birthday Girl (Woman???), Paytie, Matt, Miss Kate, Brent, Tom, Blingdaddy, and Blingmama. We missed our Boston Branch and our Urbana Dweller! (((hugs and kisses to you)))
Dinner was yummy as usual, and several people took home their little styrofoam containers of leftovers to be enjoyed at a later time! I just realized that we did NOT sing Happy Birthday to Miss Aimee........oh, dear. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Aimee, Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!
Sunday was a great day to drive down to Urbana, hear an orchestra concert, and visit with Miss Kelly! The wind was a little crazy on the drive down, but it was not too buffeting until we reached the very last leg of the trip on I 74. Of course, the gas mileage suffered, but anyone who drives a Jeep is not doing so for the wonderful gas mileage, right?
The concert was a bit longer than previous ones, having an actual intermission! The orchestra played some familiar pieces, which is always fun. We arrived a little bit early and were able to purchase a few food goodies for Kelly at Meijer before seeing her. And after the concert we dined on Chinese at what has become "our" Chinese restaurant in Champaign. Blingdaddy pointed out to Kelly that they actually deliver! :)
Tom spent the day with Grandma Marian, and I was quite surprised that he came home without any new shoes, since he usually manages to wheedle a new pair out of the poor woman each time he spends any length of time with her! He must be slipping!
Today starts basketball tryouts at the middle school for Tom. It is also Crazy Hair Day, so today Tom is sporting a blue stripe on the top of his mohawk, and also the letters "GV" (for Geneva Vikings) on the BACK of his head. All I can say is that I sure hope this stuff washes out well! :)
